It’s never too early to talk about future recruits, and today I will be talking about one that could be the best in the 2013 class. Reuben Foster from Lagrange, GA is one of the best linebacker prospects I’ve seen in recent years.
Playing for Troup County High School, Foster was completely unstoppable last season as a sophomore. He is currently listed at 6’1”, 205 pounds(according to Scout.com), and should be in the 220 pound range by the time that he graduates. He will instantly contribute at inside linebacker wherever he decides to go.
Luckily for Georgia Bulldog fans, Foster has already been offered a scholarship to play in Athens. He had a visit this past Friday and apparently has come away extremely impressed by the school and the way that he was treated there.
Foster would bring a ton of physicality and hard hitting ability that we haven’t had in Athens since Odell Thurman. He would instantly become a fan favorite, and those fans that follow recruiting closely are already in love with the young man.
He also manages to gain leverage on every blocker by staying low and using his arms and strength to keep them off of him. When he reaches the ball carrier he explodes into them, causing highlight worthy tackles on nearly every play.
He’s just one of a few top inside linebacker recruits in the class of 2013, and you can bet that the Bulldogs will be all over all three of them.
Here is his highlight video, which also shows incoming freshman Isaiah Crowell a couple of times throughout the video.
